CLASSIC CHARITY GIVING BY CLASSIC PEOPLE
The following story is unique to the normal reporting involving Full ClassicTM Cars and the people that own them. This story was referred by Marsha Clapper, a member of the Board of Directors of the Indiana Region of the Classic Car Club of America, Inc. The essence of the story was told to her at the Christmas Party held by the Indiana Region. As our country enters 2013, the United States will be entering a crucial point in our destiny of whether this country will be governed by our Federal Government in a socialistic/facist fashion potentially, or by a system of government that gives a great degree of latitude to the innovative energies of its people without excessive taxation and government regulation.
In reviewing the results of the recent national election, the business and entrepreneurial types of this country were cast by the media as greedy and non-caring individuals. Yet the business scandals of 2012 were not so connected to the creators of wealth through the innovative process and inventions, but rather to the banking sector. Greed has been the name of the game for many financial firms, which has damaged the reputation of the high end middle class and the lower end wealth class, who create wealth in contrast to many bankers and lawyers who transfer it. Never mind the fact that the top 10% of wage earners contribute 70% of the taxable income. Never mind the fact that nearly 50% of all individuals pay no federal income tax at all. Never mind the fact that many of our members of the Classic Car Club enjoying the fruits of their labors give handsomely to their communities in a variety of ways. Compare the giving of U.S. Vice-President Joe Biden, who gave a paltry 2.7% of his $307,543 taxable income to all charities according to his 2011 U.S. tax return.
