Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd. is a chemical company who engages in the manufacture, marketing, and sale of chemical products in Malaysia and internationally. The Company offers a diversified range of petrochemical products such as a range of olefin and derivative products, including ethylene, propylene, polyethylene, polypropylene, mono-ethylene glycol, di-ethylene glycols, paraxylene, benzene, methyl tertiary butyl ether, ethylene oxide, n-butane, and performance and butanol chemicals, as well as various ethylene oxide derivatives
The company also offers various fertilizers and methanol products comprising urea, ammonia, methanol, carbon monoxide, oxo gas, acetic acid, nitrogen, phosphate, and compound fertilizers, as well as polymers. In addition, it provides various petrochemical products, such as acrylics, oxo-alcohols, butanediol, and styrene monomers. The company is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Petronas Chemicals Group Berhad is a subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad. Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd, PCHEM is in the chemical business began in 1985 with the production of ammonia and urea. Since then, PCHEM’s operations have grown significantly both organically and through joint ventures with other key players in the petrochemicals industry. PCHEM began their first ethylene production in 1995, and the OPTIMAL Companies commenced operations in 2002 as joint ventures with Dow Chemical. They acquired Dow Chemical's interests in the OPTIMAL Companies in 2009 bringing all 3 of these entities under their control. PCHEM have continued to grow their business and expand their operations through the construction of new plants as well as capacity increases in existing plants. In recent years, production capacities at the Gurun and Bintulu production facilities have been expanded, and in 2009, their Mega Methanol plant in Labuan commenced operations, bolstering their position as a leading methanol producer both regionally and globally. On 2 September 2010, they acquired BP Chemicals interests in Polyethylene Malaysia and Ethylene Malaysia, making Polyethylene Malaysia their wholly-owned subsidiary and increasing their stake in Ethylene Malaysia.
Today, their operations comprise a diverse portfolio of chemical products that are sold both domestically and internationally.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Adelaide, South Australia. In 2000, he attended the INSEAD Senior Management Development Program and in 2004, he attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, Harvard University. He was conferred the Honorary Fellowship by the Institution of Chemical Engineers, UK in November 2005.
He joined PETRONAS in 1983 as a Process Engineer involved in the development of several Gas Processing Plants. In the ensuing years, he has held various positions within the PETRONAS Group...
